Dress for Success Southern Nevada offers its clients access to a Career Center, an initiative that promotes confidence and professionalism by providing women career guidance, the chance to acquire technology skills and assistance in their job searches.
In February 2014, we celebrated the grand opening of our all new and expanded Career Center, thanks to the help of Gensler, the leading global design firm, and several other contractors and businesses.
The career center supports our mission to support disadvantaged women in the Las Vegas valley seeking to re-enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency. It also provides a headquarters for Dress for Success Southern Nevada’s mentoring program that pairs Dress for Success clients with mentors who offer guidance and support through one-on-one interaction and group meetings. Ultimately, the mentoring program seeks to strengthen and enhance participants’ professional development by cultivating professional relationships and increasing their self-confidence.

At the dedication ceremony, executive director of Dress for Success Southern Nevada, Paula Lawrence said, “our new career center is not only more functional but also warm and inviting, where the women feel at ease." She added that a special inspirational art wall was created by the Gensler team and “pays homage to the threads that we wear, the threads that are donated to the boutique and the threads that bind us to each other.”
